RV Fire Threatens Home

Orange California, August 10, 2023 – At 12:21PM Orange Fire units responded to a reported structure fire at 1411 East Baldwin Avenue. Upon arrival, Orange Engine 3 reported finding heavy smoke and fire showing from the rear of the structure. Orange Engine 3 upgraded the assignment to a working structure fire response and assumed the role of Fire Attack. Radio reports confirmed there was a resident still inside the home as the crews went to work. Firefighters worked quickly searching the interior of the home, locating the resident, and leading him to safety. Additional fire crews outside extinguished a fully involved RV located to the side of the residence, limiting damage to the interior of the home.

Thirty fire personnel responded to the incident. The Orange City Fire Department received assistance from Anaheim Fire and Rescue, Orange County Fire Authority and Orange Police Department. No civilian or fire personnel injuries were reported. Four residents and two pets were displaced and referred to the Red Cross. The incident lasted approximately two hours and fifteen minutes. The fire cause and damage estimate are under investigation.
