Firefighters Make Quick Fire Knockdown on Converted Detached Garage

Orange, California, February 13, 2024 – At 4:07 PM, Orange City Fire units responded to a reported occupied residential structure fire at 522 North Clark Street. Upon arrival, Orange Engine 3 reported light smoke showing from the detached garage to the rear of a single-story single-family dwelling. Orange Engine 3 began fire attack and verification of occupant status. Orange Battalion 1 established command, upgraded the response to a working fire, and began assigning the arriving units. Orange Truck 1 was assigned to ventilation and to secure utilities. The primary search found no occupants within the structure. Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire within ten minutes.

Approximately 16 fire personnel responded to the incident. The Orange City Fire Department received assistance from, the Orange Police Department, and the American Red Cross. One adult was displaced due to smoke damage in the converted structure. No civilian or fire personnel injuries were reported, and the incident lasted one hour and 35 minutes. The fire’s cause and damage estimate are under investigation.
