Mobile Structure Fire Limits Interior Fire Attack
Orange, California, August 29, 2024 – At 1:35 AM, Orange City Fire units responded to a reported structure fire in the area of 400 South Tustin Street. Upon arrival, Orange Engine 1 reported fire showing to the front of the building and began fire attack. Orange Battalion 1 established command, upgraded the call to a working fire assignment, and began assigning the arriving units. Orange Truck 1 and Truck 2 were assigned to ventilation. The building’s compromised floor limited interior firefighting operations, causing fire crews to protect exposures from the exterior. Crews made forcible entry, accessed the uninvolved portion, and confirmed unoccupied status. Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire within forty minutes.
Approximately 22 fire personnel responded to the incident. The Orange City Fire Department received assistance from the Orange County Fire Authority and the Orange Police Department. No civilian or fire personnel injuries were reported. The incident lasted three hours and five minutes. The fire’s cause and damage estimate are under investigation.
