Spreading Christmas Magic to Brave Young Hearts
Orange, California, December 15, 2025 – There was a shimmer in the winter air and a sparkle in every window at Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) when Santa Claus himself made a very special visit, arriving not by sleigh but high above the ground on a hook and ladder fire truck.
On Sunday, our Chief Elf scouts spotted Santa trading in reindeer reins for a firefighter’s ladder, rising up floor by floor to wave, laugh, and spread Christmas cheer to the incredible children receiving care at CHOC. From hospital rooms glowing with twinkling lights to windows filled with hopeful smiles, Santa made sure no child was missed.
As he ascended the ladder, Santa paused often, waving, tapping on windows, and giving his signature, “Ho, Ho, Ho!” to children, families, and staff who gathered and peered out the window. For a few magical moments, IV poles disappeared, hospital gowns turned into capes of courage, and the spirit of Christmas filled every corner of the hospital. “Even on the busiest nights at the North Pole,” Santa told us elves, “there is nowhere I’d rather be than bringing joy to children who remind us all of what true bravery looks like.”
This visit would not have been possible without the Orange City Firefighters who helped Santa safely reach the skies and the compassionate CHOC staff who care for these children every single day. Together, they helped turn an ordinary December day into a lifelong memory.
From all of us elves, we can confirm: the Christmas spirit is alive, well, and glowing brighter than Rudolph’s nose at CHOC.
