OFD Teams Up with Pancho’s Mexican Restaurant for Toy Drive

Orange, California, December 14, 2022 – On Wednesday, December 14, 2022, the Orange City Fire Department and Pancho’s Mexican Restaurant teamed up to assemble and donate bikes for children in need this holiday season.  Greg Badgwell, the owner of Pancho’s Mexican Restaurant, led the donation effort, along with the Orange City Fire Department. Pancho’s started this tradition 15 years ago and has invited the fire department to partner with them for the last 4 years. By the end of the day, over 80 bikes were assembled and donated to OFD for distribution to our local nonprofit groups.

The Orange City Fire Department has 13 nonprofit groups that request toys for their organizations.  This year, we had 4,540 toys requested. We were able to fulfill all requests by receiving toys donated by our Orange citizens and local businesses like Pancho’s. The Orange City Fire Department would like to thank Pancho’s and all the organizations that came together to make the holidays a little brighter for some of the children in our community. A special thank you to Hazardous Material Specialist, Thang Nguyen, who has worked tirelessly on this project for the last few months.
