Firefighters Stop Garage Fire Before It Spreads into Multi-Family Units
Orange, California, January 23, 2024 – At 7:42 PM, Orange City Fire units were dispatched to a reported fire at 404 East Glendale Avenue. Upon arrival, Orange Engine 3 discovered a significant fire in the garage of a multi-family residential structure. They quickly upgraded the response to a working structure fire and initiated an aggressive fire attack. Orange Battalion 1 assumed command and assigned arriving units to various tasks such as ventilation, forcible entry, and securing utilities to ensure the fire did not spread to the residential area. Firefighters successfully extinguished the fire in 58 minutes.
A total of 27 fire personnel responded to the incident, with assistance from Anaheim Fire and Rescue, Orange Police Department, and Red Cross. Due to smoke damage, six adults, three children, and two dogs were displaced from two residences. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported among civilians or fire personnel, and the incident lasted approximately four hours. The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are currently under investigation.
