Firefighters Contain Fire to a Single Room of the Home
Orange, California, June 1, 2024 – At 8:25 AM, Orange City Fire units responded to a reported structure fire at 811 West Almond Avenue. Upon arrival, Orange Engine 1 reported finding heavy smoke showing from the front door of a single-story residential home. Orange Engine 1 assumed the role of Fire Attack and prepared to make entry through the front door. Orange Battalion 1 arrived on scene and assumed command of the incident, quickly upgrading the assignment to a working structure fire response. Fire crews worked quickly to secure the utilities and made impressive progress in locating the fire and stopping its spread. Radio reports by fire crews working inside the home confirmed a quick knockdown of the fire and an all-clear view of the interior of the structure. The fire was contained to the front unit of the home, limiting damage to the interior, and did not extend to the living area located at the rear of the structure.
Thirty fire personnel responded to the incident. The Orange City Fire Department received assistance from The Orange County Fire Authority and Orange Police Department. No civilian or fire personnel injuries were reported. The incident lasted approximately one hour and thirty minutes.
