FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Blaze Was Contained Before It Could Spread to The Living Area

Orange, California, March 15, 2025 – At 8:56 AM, Orange City Fire units were dispatched to a structure fire at 1314 North Catalina Avenue. Orange County Engine 23 arrived on the scene at 9:01 AM and observed that a fire in the garage was spreading to the second story of the single-family home. They quickly initiated a fire attack. Orange Battalion 1 escalated the incident to a working fire assignment. By 9:02 AM, Orange Engine 8 had taken command, tasking incoming units with verifying occupant status, and ensured that utilities were secured. It was confirmed that the house was unoccupied, except for several reptiles, which firefighters protected by closing the door to their room. Command was officially transferred to Orange Battalion 1 at 9:08 AM, which continued to allocate responsibilities among the units. Orange Truck 2 tactically performed horizontal ventilation to direct smoke away from the structure, allowing firefighters to extinguish the fire quickly and prevent it from spreading to the living areas.

A total of approximately thirty-four firefighters responded to the incident, with support from the Orange County Fire Authority, Anaheim Fire and Rescue, and the Orange Police Department. As a result of the fire, two adults and two children were displaced due to smoke damage. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries among civilians or fire personnel, and the incident was resolved in just over two hours. The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are currently under investigation.
