Rapid Response: The Key to Preventing Widespread Loss

Orange, California, January 23, 2026 – Orange City Fire units responded to a reported structure fire on West Lincoln Avenue. Upon arrival at 09:19 AM, the first arriving unit reported finding a two-story garden-style apartment complex, with a first-floor unit well involved and fire possibly extending to the second floor. Command was established by Orange Battalion 1, and the response was upgraded to a working structure fire. Firefighters quickly located the first-floor unit that was on fire and initiated Fire Attack with the goal of fire suppression and victim rescue. Battalion 1 assigned fire crews to assist with evacuation on the first and second floors of the structure in addition to searching for an extension of the fire. Fire crews were successful and knocked down the fire in fifteen minutes, limiting its damage to two units.

Forty-six personnel responded to the incident. The Orange City Fire Department received assistance from Anaheim Fire and Rescue, the Orange County Fire Authority, the Orange Police Department, and the American Red Cross. Six residents were treated for smoke-related injuries; one was released on scene, and five were transported to local area hospitals in stable condition. No fire personnel injuries were reported. Six adults, six children, and three pets were displaced and referred to the Red Cross. The incident lasted approximately three hours and thirty minutes. The fire’s cause and damage estimate are under investigation.
