Coordinated Two-Alarm Response Limits Structural Damage; No Injuries Reported

Orange, California, January 27, 2026 – Early this morning, Orange City Fire units responded to a reported structure fire located on the 400 block of Levers Place. The first arriving unit reached the scene at 4:25 AM and reported a large, single-story commercial tilt-up building with heavy smoke showing from the roof. Recognizing the potential for a major fire, the response was immediately upgraded to a second alarm. Orange Battalion 1 arrived shortly after, established Levers Command, and began systematically assigning incoming units to critical tasks including forcible entry, fire attack, water supply, rescue intervention, and ventilation.

Upon gaining entry to the expansive structure, fire crews were met with punishing heat and zero-visibility conditions. To combat these deteriorating interior conditions, the Incident Commander assigned a second truck company to the roof to assist with ventilation. These crews performed coordinated vertical ventilation operations to exhaust the extreme heat and smoke from the building. This strategic move improved visibility and safety inside, enabling fire attack companies to continue their aggressive suppression efforts and conduct primary search operations.

Firefighters successfully declared a knockdown of the blaze in just under 60 minutes after the initial dispatch. A total of 46 fire personnel responded to the incident, with the Orange City Fire Department receiving assistance from Anaheim Fire & Rescue, the Orange Police Department, and Southern California Edison.

There were no injuries reported to either civilians or fire personnel. Units remained on the scene for approximately three hours to complete essential overhaul and salvage operations to protect the remaining property. The cause of the fire and the estimated financial loss are currently under investigation.
