Firefighters Quietly Transition to a New Headquarters

Orange, California, September 10, 2022 – The Orange City Fire Department has officially opened their new headquarters located at 1176 E. Chapman Ave and calls for service are being responded to from the new location.

At 6:15 am on a quiet, humid, Saturday morning, members of the Orange City Fire Department mounted their apparatus and exited 176 South Grand Street for the last time. A procession led by Fire Chief Sean deMetropolis, Deputy Chiefs Robert Stefano and Doug Yates, and the fire units of Orange Fire Station 1, slowly paraded east on east on Almond Avenue with their lights flashing to their new home. Firefighters who were beginning their 48-hour shift at the new station welcomed the caravan with hands clapping and phones snapping pictures. Orange City Fire Chaplains Ric Olsen and Rob Curington blessed the new station and closed with a humble prayer. Firefighters stood at attention as the American Flag was raised and watched as the colors of the United States of America took flight over Fire Headquarters for the first time.  By 7:00 am, it was business as usual for the firefighters, as the engine, truck, and rescue received emergency calls and departed the station to serve the community of Orange.
